Yes, to transform a file: your free account is what holds your credits. You get 3 credits when you sign up, then 1 free credit every week, with no credit card. Without your consent, we send no advertising emails, only those about your account (welcome, invoices). Rebuilding an XML, on the other hand, needs no account.
Yes. Moving from the free plan to VIP is immediate: your 20 monthly credits are added to your balance right away. If you cancel, you keep VIP until the end of the paid period, then return to the free plan without losing your pack credits. Packs can be bought at any time, with or without a subscription. To switch from monthly to annual VIP, open the Stripe portal from your settings: the year is billed right away, minus the unused part of your current month, and starts on the day you switch. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the end of the paid year.
From your settings, in the subscription section. You keep VIP until the end of the period already paid, with no further charge, and you can reactivate the subscription until that period ends.
The site tells you right on the Upload page, with the date of your next credit. You can still drop a file and see its free preview (up to 4 MB); to transform it, wait for your quota to renew or buy a credit pack to continue immediately.
Only when you confirm the transformation. As soon as you drop your file, a free preview shows the detected row tag, the first rows of the result and, if need be, why the file would be refused: you can change the row tag or the file without paying anything. A refused file costs nothing.
Not your plan's credits: at each renewal (every week on the free plan, every month on VIP), your balance is topped up to the quota if it is below, and never reduced if it is above. Credits bought in packs never expire and stay yours even if you cancel.
Credit packs are one-time purchases of 10 credits for €12. They add to your current quota, never expire, and are used after your plan's credits (sign-up bonus and weekly credit on the free plan, monthly credits on VIP). You can buy multiple packs.
No, for security and GDPR compliance reasons, your files are never stored. They are processed in real time and deleted immediately after processing. Above 4 MB, the file goes through a private, encrypted transit space for the time of the preview and the transformation, then it's wiped (at the latest one hour after the upload).
Currently, we only accept XML files. The output is an .excelify.zip bundle containing a CSV file (.csv) — which opens in Excel, Numbers (Mac), Google Sheets, LibreOffice or any other tool — and a structure manifest (skeleton.json). Reconstruction is then available on the /reconstruct page of the site, on any OS. As an option, the standalone Excel workbook (2 credits) gives you an .xlsm workbook that regenerates the XML from desktop Excel (Windows or Mac), with the standard bundle as a fallback.
4 MB per transformation on the free plan, 30 MB on the VIP plan. Reconstruction is free for everyone and accepts bundles up to 4 MB — roughly 10 to 30 MB of rebuilt XML, depending on the content — with no output ceiling. To go beyond that (Enterprise catalogs), contact us.
The workbook includes the same structure analysis as a standard transformation, plus building a custom workbook that regenerates your XML offline, without limit. It comes with the standard bundle (CSV + manifest) to rebuild online if needed. The free weekly credit isn't enough on its own: use your welcome credits, a credit pack or VIP (20 credits a month, i.e. 10 workbooks).
