Terms of Service

Article 1 - Purpose

These Terms of Service (ToS) legally govern the use of the ExcelifyXML service (hereinafter "the Service") and define the conditions of access and use of the service by the User.

Article 2 - Definitions

In these ToS, the following terms have the following meaning:

• Service : The ExcelifyXML platform enabling the transformation of XML files into editable CSV and their online reconstruction
• User : Any natural or legal person using the Service
• Transformation : The operation of converting an XML file into an editable CSV with a structure manifest
• Standalone Excel workbook : The Microsoft Excel file (.xlsm) generated by the Service from an XML file, holding the User's data and a macro that regenerates an XML file on the User's computer
• Credits : Unit of measure used for the features of the Service that consume credits (transformation, standalone Excel workbook), according to the rates set out in the Terms of Sale

Article 3 - Access to the Service

You must be at least 15 years old to use this service.

Access to the Service requires the creation of a user account. The User agrees to provide accurate information during registration.

The User is responsible for the confidentiality of their login credentials and any activity on their account.

Article 4 - Service Description

ExcelifyXML allows Users to:

• Upload XML files
• Obtain a bundle containing an editable CSV + a structure manifest
• Rebuild their original XML via the reconstruction page of the site
• Obtain a standalone Excel workbook holding their data and a macro that regenerates the XML file on their computer
• Manage their transformation credits according to their plan

Article 5 - User Obligations

The User agrees to:

• Use the Service in accordance with its intended purpose
• Not upload files containing illegal or malicious data
• Respect intellectual property rights
• Not attempt to circumvent Service limitations

Article 6 - File Confidentiality

Files sent by the User are processed in real time and are never retained. They transit ephemerally and encrypted through our European servers (in memory, or for large files via a private transit space) and are deleted immediately after processing — at the latest within the hour in case of interruption.

Article 7 - Intellectual Property

The User retains all intellectual property rights over the files they upload. ExcelifyXML does not acquire any rights over this content.

Article 7a - Standalone Excel workbook and macro

The standalone Excel workbook contains a VBA macro that runs on the User's computer, in Microsoft Excel (desktop versions for Windows and macOS). It reads the workbook's data and writes an XML file to the location chosen by the User; it makes no network connection and never starts automatically.

Running the macro is the User's decision, in line with their organization's security policy. ExcelifyXML never asks to lower Excel's security level; where macros are forbidden, the User can rebuild their file online with the standard bundle supplied with every workbook.

The workbook works with recent desktop versions of Excel for Windows and macOS. Excel for the web, Excel on iPad, Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice cannot run the macro.

The macro's code remains the property of To The Rock SASU. The User is granted a non-exclusive right of use with no time limit, for their own needs and those of their organization; they may freely review this code, but may neither redistribute it separately from the workbook nor resell it.

Before any import into a production system, the User checks the generated XML file, preferably on a test environment.

Article 8 - Liability

ExcelifyXML cannot be held liable for:

• Damages resulting from non-compliant use of the Service
• Data loss resulting from technical failure
• Consequences of using transformed files
• Of the consequences of a change made to the standalone Excel workbook or its macro by the User or a third party

Article 9 - Modification of ToS

ExcelifyXML reserves the right to modify these ToS. Users will be notified of any changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new ToS. In case of disagreement, the user may terminate their account before the changes take effect.

Article 10 - Applicable Law

These ToS are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or execution will be submitted to the competent courts of Lille.

In accordance with the French Consumer Code, the consumer may bring proceedings before the court of their place of residence.

Article 10 bis - Account Termination by User

The User may request the deletion of their account at any time by contacting us at contact@excelifyxml.com or through their account settings. Account deletion will result in the deletion of all associated personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
